Photo 17-05-2015 10 37 33Last week we had a visit from The BMS Action Team in Mozambique. We welcomed Stephen, Ben and Rachel to Hucknall for a busy week of activities including Mozambique comes to Monday Club, as series of lessons at The National Academy and Linby-cum-Papplewick Primary schools, a talk given to the Rotary Club, as well as them helping out at IMPACT (The Christian Union at National) and Explore (the youth group at church)

The team did a great job of sharing their experiences and insight with such a wide range of people. They were engaging and entertaining. In the bigger picture they helped us grasp a better understanding of the work of BMS in Kadesh in Mozambique, while on a personal level they shared with us moving and challenging stories about individual lives that had been touched by the love of God shown in the actions of others.

To bring their week with us to a close the team lead in The Hub on Sunday…we began with the fun challenge of Photo 17-05-2015 10 34 11making kites out of bin liners and sticks (in the style made by the children in Mozambique- though we did use sellotape too!), they had us singing a welcome song in Portuguese but then lead us to be challenged about how we can make a difference in the world by loving others with the love that Jesus shows us.

It has been a privilege and a joy to have the team with us. What an inspiration and challenge to see young Action teampeople moving out of their comfort zones to grow and be challenged on a personal level and also reaching out to touch the lives of others. Our prayers go with them into the next weeks of their tour and then as they each move on to University in the Autumn.
