Jesus is at the heart of who we are, what we teach, and how we live.

Rev. Simon J Robinson
Lead Minister
Here at WRBC, we’re all about building a welcoming family where everyone feels they belong—whether you’re just starting to explore faith or have been walking the journey for years.
As Lead Minister, my role is to support, encourage, and empower our leaders, volunteers, and congregation to serve and make a positive impact in Hucknall and beyond. Together, we’re creating a space where people can grow, connect, and feel at home, all while advancing God’s mission in our community.
Hazel and I have been married since 1982 and have two grown-up sons and four wonderful grandchildren. Outside of church, you’ll often find me digging through vinyl records, going to gigs, or enjoying Indie and Electronic music.

Lisa Sims
Children and Families Team Leader
Hi, I am Lisa and I am so excited to be the Childrens and Families Team Leader. I grew up at Watnall Road Baptist Church and was taught by some amazing leaders about the love of God. I am so privileged to be able to now teach the next generation and help them know the love of Jesus in this troubled world.
We have so much fun on a Sunday morning and we also have a variety of clubs that we run from 0-11. I am really keen to work with our community and partner the local schools and clubs in Hucknall. I want children to feel loved, included and enjoy learning about God and excited to come to church.
I am married to Neil and have 2 grown up boys George and Max. We are all avid Nottingham Forest fans. Neil and I love to travel and enjoy socialising and walking with our West Highland White Dog, Angel.
Matt Little
Youth Team Leader
Hi, I’m Matt, and I’m the Youth Team Leader at WRBC! It is my absolute mission to help make WRBC the most fun, safe, and exciting place ever as we build a home for young people to engage with Church. I am super passionate about encountering Jesus through his awesome Holy Spirit. I also love to ask and answer absolutely any questions on life, God, and the bible. Let’s chat!
But, outside of hanging out with the most amazing youth group in the world… I am a massive and I mean massive Marvel and DC fan. However, my love for beautiful but unmanly Disney films must not be underestimated. My other passion is football. If you like football, we will be friends. Beware of my overly passionate love for Leeds United.
PS. If you’re new to WRBC, I am too so you’re not alone. Please join us on this ride! This community really is a good bunch.
What We Believe
We believe in living out our Christian faith as effectively as possible, making an impact with those who do not know the great news about Jesus Christ. We believe we should share that good news of Jesus, equip people in their faith journey and see them live their faith out, in the world. These are our key teachings, that we share with the Evangelical Alliance.
The one true God (Trinity)
The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God’s love, grace, sovereignty in creation
The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
Authority of Scripture
The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
The dignity of all people
The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
The incarnation of Jesus Christ
The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
Christ’s atoning sacrifice
The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
The resurrection and ascension
The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
Justification by grace through faith
The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
Ministry of the Holy Spirit
The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
The Church, body of Christ
The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
The return of Jesus Christ
The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
Working Together to Reach Further, Faster.
As part of the Further Faster Network, we join with other churches to share the good news of Jesus, strengthen our ministries, and build God’s kingdom together.
