New to Church?

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

We know that it’s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. You may feel nervous or unsure of what will happen so we want to help you know what to expect if you come to one of our Sunday gatherings.

We want to make you visit us an enjoyable and uplifting experience. So here is what you can expect…

Key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

Our Church meets every Sunday at 10:15am for our Sunday Service. Aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.  This is a time to gather together and worship with contemporary music.  There are groups for children from the ages of 0-16.

We meet at:
Watnall Road
Hucknall
Nottinghamshire
NG15 7LD

You can see a map on our contact us page

What should I expect when I visit the church?

When you arrive you will be welcomed by a member of our connect team who will help you to feel at home and answer any questions that you have.

Simon – our Lead Minister – will welcome everyone from the front and then the worship team will lead us in a few songs. The music will have a contemporary feel to it with drums, guitars, keyboards and vocalists. There will be a chance to respond at the end of the service.

Youth and Children join us for the first 20 minutes or so of the service, when we have a relaxed atmosphere and a fun family time of worship and thought for the day.

Simon or sometimes another speaker will usually give a talk based on a passage in the Bible. We do our best to make them interesting, enjoyable, challenging, and relevant to how we live our daily life.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

Communion
On the first Sunday of each month we have communion together. This is a simple act of worship that Jesus first celebrated with his disciples: it involves us coming to God in an attitude of thanksgiving for the love he has shown us through Jesus’ death and taking bread and wine which speak about the sacrifice Jesus has made for us.

What happens to the kids at church?

After the first 20 minutes in the service the children and young people then go out to their groups. We have groups for every age from babies and Toddlers though to 16 year olds. The groups will include a creative mixture of worship, games, interactive teaching, craft and response activities.

Minizone (Birth to school year 1) Parents are welcome to stay with their children and join in the fun!
Glo (School years 1-4)
Limitless (School years 5-6)
Junction (School years 7 and up)

Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their group.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
